About Flashcards

Repertoire flashcards are a powerful way to drill your opening preparation. Each card shows a position from your repertoire on the front. Flip it to see your recommended response on the back.

The PDF is laid out for duplex (double-sided) printing: odd pages are card fronts, even pages are card backs. After printing, cut along the dotted lines to get individual flashcards.

Tips:

  • Use a complete repertoire PGN (e.g. exported from Lichess studies or ChessBase).
  • Set Max depth lower (e.g. 10) for just the critical early moves.
  • Positions where you have multiple variations will generate one card per line.
  • Duplicate positions (transpositions) are automatically deduplicated.
  • After printing and cutting, feel free to get rid of flashcards you don't need, e.g. for obvious recaptures
  • Study your flashcards regularly. Get a small box or just some rubber bands and take them with you to study on the go!
